What a busy first week back after half-term it has been in Years 3 and 4. Our new topic, The Magical Maya, has begun with a real bang! Children have been learning all about this ancient civilisation in English, researching their empire and creating informative writing about their life, culture and religion. Children have also been learning about Maya Gods, temples and pyramids in art and DT and have planned their own idols and temples inspired by the Maya that they are going to create over the next few weeks.
In Maths, children have been learning about measuring, comparing and converting different lengths. Estimating has been a really important skill this week with the children correctly estimating the length of various items and objects from around the classroom. In Science, Year 3 and 4 are learning all about living things and their habi-tats this half-term. This week, pupils have been busy learning how to group and categorise living things depending on their characteristics. The children have also been busy writing computer codes for Minecraft this week and have explored how to debug errors within their coding.
The Year 4 residential is next week. If there are questions or queries then please see either Mr Gamble or Miss Brophy as soon as possible.
