We have had another lovely week in Years 3/4.
Another drama fuelled English week, each class have been writing persuasive letters to different people, arguing their point of view and choosing the right connectives to help them do this.
In Math’s we are continuing our focus on shape and space, meaning Year 3 have been focusing on the size of different angles as well as directing a hungry bee bot mouse using these angles to find its cheese. In Year 4 we have been focusing on symmetry, looking at reflective symmetry and how to check this using a mirror, as well as identifying lines of symmetry in 2-D shapes in different orientations.
Continuing with our Viking topic, in Art this week we have been practicing our pencil skills, trying to sketch out a symmetrical Viking shield and using different materials, whether it be pastels, paints, felt tips or crayons to decorate. In DT we have been researching which fruit and vegetables are best in season, and making a yearly chart so we can clearly see which months harvest the most fruits and vegetables.
In Computing we have been very excited to find that ‘iamlearning’ has re-launched at Cookridge primary school! We have had lots of fun creating our new avatars and trying to answer as many quiz questions as possible to cash in more coins so we can improve our avatar further—remember you can access this at home too!
Finally, in Science we have been looking at reflections and how mirrors reflect light, playing some really fun mirror games and trying to complete some mirror writing!
